What Is a Soft Packer?
A soft packer, in the context of Banana Prosthetics, is a product made to resemble male genitalia made from soft but robust medical grade silicone. A packer is designed to sit in the underwear of the wearer to create a bulge-like appearance in the clothes. This is useful if you are wearing clothes tailored to fit men with a natal penis, as usually there is some room left in the crotch area. The packer helps fill this, therefore making the clothes fit better, and providing a more masculine silhouette.
Gender Dysphoria Relief
A packer relieves genital focused gender dysphoria for anyone who may be distressed by the fact that they were not born with a natal penis. By providing a realistic penile appearance, the wearer can look down and feel connected to their body in a way that makes them happy, and it also provides a more realistic shape through boxer shorts.
My Experience Wearing a Packer
When I wear a packer, the main things I focus on are the weight of it and how that makes me feel more connected to myself as a man, and how the packer makes my clothes fit and provides me with that masculine shape that I strive for in order to relieve my own dysphoria. I can leave the house without packing, but it often feels like I'm missing something if I do, like I've left the house without my keys. I have pretty severe bottom dysphoria (a slang term used to describe genital dysphoria), which is one of the reasons that I was thrilled to be able to test some of Banana Prosthetics’ genital-focused products.
Finding the Right Size
I have had experience with packing before and knew that the ideal size for me is around 4-inches when it comes to appearing flaccid and proportional to my body (very personal to everyone). The SP 8 is 4 inches in length and is uncut but still has the head of the penis poking through the foreskin. It’s truly a beautiful product, if you’re weird like me and think penis prosthetics can be beautiful, but it’s a work of art through-and-through.

Material and Realism
Each packer is made with a high quality, heavy-duty, medical grade silicone that is completely body safe and does not absorb any fluids or smells– an important factor, as you can imagine, seeing where the packer stays whilst in use. Each design (save for the SP 1, which is hand carved) is modelled off the penis of a cisgender man. This means that the silicone has picked up on every single pore, wrinkle, and fold of skin that its real-life owner has. This gives the silicone this really pleasing, rough sort of feeling, as if it were real skin.
Comfort and Wearability
The overall take-away of the packer when in use is that it is comfortable, and that it feels good on the skin. When I soft pack, I often don’t want to faff around with a harness and will favor putting it straight against the skin inside my boxers. Although Banana Prosthetics recommend wearing a soft pack harness, I’ve found that if you don’t want to, then the packer doesn’t feel uncomfortable like this.
Sticking and Adhering Options
The only thing is that I get the feeling it might stick better to the skin if you were clean shaved. I am not, nor will I ever be, a smooth, hairless guy and so the hair down there obstructs the tacky backplate from fixing to the skin. On the other hand, maybe being clean-shaven will cause more sweat and discomfort, so it’s worth experimenting with. Banana Prosthetics also mention that you can use Trans Tape (KT tape) to adhere the packer to skin for long-term wearability. There are many methods of doing this, if it interests you, I recommend looking up tutorials online.
Realism in Daily Life
When packing with the SP8, realism really did a great result on alleviating my dysphoria, it sat correctly and looked correct from the outside. The shapes and texture of each nook and cranny really helps me connect to my body more. Because of the realism and the size, it changes your stance and behavior to be identical to a man with a natal penis, which further validates my identity.
Weight and Firmness
The product is heavy, I would say it feels like holding a small orange in your boxers when being worn. This wasn’t an issue for me, I found that the weight encouraged realism and helped the product feel satisfying and hardy. But it definitely would take some getting used to for those who are inexperienced.
The packer is also on the firmer side, you can still bend it in half if wanted, but it’s comparable perhaps to a ball of socks in the softness, compared to a bag of jelly that some of the cheaper ones feel close to. This is because of the medical grade of the silicone, and so it’s understandable, however I would say to be warned that this will not feel like a squishy tube when you wear it and will definitely have some heft to it if someone accidentally feels it while brushing past you. Then again, I would argue that a bio penis also does not feel overly squishy through clothes.
Conclusion
Overall, this is undeniably a prosthetic product. This is not for someone who just wants to have a bit of padding, this is for someone who wants a full prosthetic experience. It is realistic, heavy, robust, and you’re aware of it in the way you would be if it were attached to your body. The quality is unshakeable, and the design is beautiful, and Banana Prosthetics provides so much choice so that you can find the perfect penis for you.
